Description

Based on Audrey Niffenegger’s book of the same name, the movie teases the idea of having the one you love leaving you without any warning.

Henry DeTamble (Eric Bana) is a librarian who survives a car crash by accidentally time travelling back two weeks, finding out it’s due to his DNA that causes him to have these uncontrollable time travels. When he meets the over-excited Clare (Rachel McAdams) in the library, he’s confused as to how Clare has known him her whole life, but soon the story unravels into a love story much deeper than what the present has offered.

Because of Henry’s condition travelling back and forwards unexpectedly, their relationship starts to fall apart, and we’re left with a story of man and a woman who are trying to live a stable life with an unstable circumstance. It’s a story that will definitely grab at your heart strings, and tug away on your emotions. Eric Bana is an on-screen sweetheart, and Rachel McAdams conveys Clare’s emotional struggle with intensity.

          Comments about Time Traveler's Wife:

I am a huge fan of the book, so I was nervous about this movie adaption, but I shouldn't have worried - I thought it was very good movie. Rachel McAdams is very good as Claire, though I was less convinced of Eric Bana as Henry - he's not "punk" enough. Although a lot of more detailed elements from the book were left out - you cannot include everything, so overall, I really enjoyed it.

            Comments about Time Traveler's Wife:

The movie is a little dis-jointed and confusing. I think it would make a lot more sense if you have read the book. In the film it is often difficult to work out where you are in the time-line. The acting is fine although there isn't much chemistry between Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana. It is worth watching but it isn't fantastic.
