Description
In 2004, their debut album 'Contraband' debuted at #1 on US Billboard albums chart and sold over 3 million albums worldwide, and in Australia this debuted at #2 on ARIA albums chart achieving Gold sales. The band won a Grammy for the lead track 'Slither'.
Libertad is a bold move forward from their blistering debut album. While keeping their feet solidly on the foundation of searing hard rock, this album broadens the bands sound to new levels of creativity. The first single 'She Builds Quick Machines' sets the tone with its menacing aggression. On 'Libertad' that song is just the tip of the iceberg. Songs like 'The Last Fight', 'Get Out The Door', and 'For A Brother' show that in the long term, 'Libertad' has potential to take Velvet Revolver to even greater heights.

Comments about RCA Velvet Revolver - Libertad (Standard Edition) (Enhanced):
Right from the intro to the opening track you can tell this is going to be a decent rock album with plenty of hooks to keep you enjoying it. In fairness you'd expect no less from what is a cracking line-up of musicians and they certainly don't fail to deliver.
Containing a mixture of heavy rock and rock-pop this album showcases all the various talent on offer superbly and if you like rock this album has a little of something for virtually everyone. Musically the album contains a few eclectic moments such as the 'down-home' feel to the start of Pills, Demons & etc and the nod to psychedelia on slower number The Last Flight.
Standout tracks for me come mainly at the beginning of the album with Let It Roll being a solid rocker, She Mine having a chorus that more than carries the song, Get Out The Door is quite simply infectious rock-pop of the highest order and She Builds Quick Machines the type of 'driving guitars' I really enjoy. American Man and Spay would be the other highlights for me but that's not to say the remaining tracks are particularly weak just less my personal cup of tea.
