Description
Taking inspiration from as diverse sources as 60's girl groups, New York's ESG, and even the classic twee pop of Sarah Records, Theoretical Girl gigged tirelessly over the next couple of years throughout the UK and Europe. Initially armed with just her guitar and backing tracks, latterly with her backing band The Equations, she's built up a formidable following, and an impressive list of bands she's played with - Lethal Bizzle, Calvin Harris, Kaito, Good Shoes, Shitdisco, Metric and Maximo Park amongst many others. Two sold out German headline tours, a headline jaunt round Italy and frequent shows in Paris testify to Theoretical Girl's increasing international popularity.
Two further singles on XL singles imprint Salvia led to Memphis Industries (home of The Go! Team and the Pipettes among others) getting in touch. An album deal was duly inked and Theoretical Girl has spent the autumn of 2008 holed up in a studio putting her debut album together. With the album completed and slated for a August release 2009 looks set to be full of excitement.
