Description
The Resistance begins out with one of the most straightforward rock songs that are featured on the album, "Uprising." It has a seeming futuristic dance beat which was the brainchild and product of bassist Chris Wolstenholme. He layered the beat underneath the front man which is just astoundingly genius.
There has been a definitive 'us or we against them' mindset which has consistently built up over the course of Muse's previous few records. The Resistance is certainly no exception in any matter. The lyrics are demanding from both sides. What Bellamy is specifically referring to in some of the songs is 'anyone's guess about the subject matter.' The volatile disposition of the world is used as an allusion to add more spice and vivacity to the album.
Bellamy nevertheless makes it crystal clear on "The Resistance" that love is our ultimate resistance. The song is purposefully derived from the loving relationship between Julia and Winston from Orwell's 1984. The lyrics depict a perplexing state of mind and even echoes Orwell's ideas about how love is the perfect depiction of rebellion. Once again, the song and the album itself seem to portray a real live performance with its liveliness and epic proportions. The soaring tracks about defiance also come from the thought falling in love. Indeed, the album has so much to offer. Its twisted lyrics that convey everyday messages make it one of the most cryptic and intelligent albums ever produced.

Brilliant CD. Don't know why it took me so long to purchase it. A real fusion of Queen meets 70's rock meets bang up to date.

Comments about WM UK MUSE - RESISTANCE:
'Origin of Symmetry', 'Absolution' and 'Black Holes and Revelations', where all good albums leading me to become a huge fan of the music that was being produced be Muse. This album 'Resistance' was not only a highly anticipated release by myself, but was there also seemed to be a lot more publicity and promotion here in Australia.. What can I say, but it is extremely disappointing to say the very least. It lacks the great songs that were on previous releases and does not hold much wait at all as a conceptual album of 'The Resistance' when singles of this album are being played on the lowest common denominator radio stations in Melbourne to try and promote sales. Sure, Muse may have always been a bit self indulgent but they were not previously being hyped up and they were making great songs. Going to the Big Day Out and seeing Muse trying to play a stadium rock gala show at a festival was also very disappointing and inappropriate. I look at this album in many extremely cynical ways, questioning what kind of record contract Muse are tied up with. Let us pray that this is not the start of what could be a very long and diasppointing demise of what was a really great band.

Comments about WM UK MUSE - RESISTANCE:
Muse has done it again...very innovating album with a wide range of genres put togehther. But still they manage to keep fokus on creating great songs with good lyrics.
Some songs sounds as Queen, some like Classic Muse - WOW a good album.

Comments about WM UK MUSE - RESISTANCE:
I've been a Muse fan since Origin of Symmetry and absolutely loved Absolution, but I think they want to be different too much ever since. For me, that started with Black Holes & Revelations, but that sound has grown on me. I guess Resistance will grow on me eventually, but it takes a lot of effort. Don't understand me wrong, it's a great record, but I think there are (for a Muse record) quite a few missteps. Especially the "Queen tribute" tracks don't hit me (I don't really like Queen though ...).
I get the feeling from the Resistance Muse wanted too bad to create an epic record that'd make them a piece of music history. In my opinion they didn't need to do that, because their previous records already did ...

Comments about WM UK MUSE - RESISTANCE:
On first listen to every song I thought that this album was very different, but by the end of every song I just wanted to listen to more. Every song is just awesome from the usual rocking riffs of Muse in MK ultra and Unnatural Selection to the new dance inspired songs such as Undisclosed Desires. I cant fault it. Even the 80's style Bon Jovi influenced tune, Guiding Light, is just pure awesome. Buy this if you like Muse. Buy this if you haven't listened to them before. 5/5

Comments about WM UK MUSE - RESISTANCE:
Muse have always delivered powerful pumping rock that makes you dance like no one is watching. Moving in a slightly different direction to their other albums Muse investigate a more melodic style but still incorporate their classic rock hooks.
