Comments about WARNER Marina & The Diamonds - Family Jewels:
For those who are into pop music this is a decent buy. The singer has a Lady Gaga-esque kookiness to her. 'I Am Not A Robot' and 'Holywood' are probably the best tracks on the album.

Comments about WARNER Marina & The Diamonds - Family Jewels:
Marina Diamandis has her own immediately recognizable style. No soppy ballads here. Catchy quirky staccato pop. Songs deal with life choices for young women and how they are made - and related social comment. One of the major themes across the album is the way young women are treated in the media - what they are told to act like and what they should be interested in doing with their lives. Her voice is quite unlike most others popular at the moment. Think Kate Bush vocalizing but less high pitched. The music is very catchy, with plenty of hooks and electronic effects. The songs really grow on you. This girl really knows what she is doing, is talented, and I can't see her going away in a hurry... Bought the album after hearing and being most impressed with 'Mowgli's Road' and 'Hollywood'. She is a star on the rise and one to watch.

Comments about WARNER Marina & The Diamonds - Family Jewels:
This is a quirky and original offering from a distinctly English performer. Hollywood is a pure pop gem and features the memorable line "I'm obsessed with the mess that's America". Reminiscent of Kate Bush, and both part of, and unique from, the new generation of English female artists (think Florence and the Machine / Little Boots etc).

Comments about WARNER Marina & The Diamonds - Family Jewels:
After Mowgli's Road and I am not a Robot I had to hear more. I'm loving this cd - she's original and twisted, a little pop and a little alternative. A couple of songs you might not want to play again, but mostly this cd is garanteed to please.
