Marina and the Diamonds, sometimes stylised Marina & the diamonds, is the recording name of Welsh-born London-based singer-songwriter Marina Diamandis.The Family Jewels is her debut album. Diamandis has recently been collaborating with producer Benny Blanco and guitarist Dave Sitek in Los Angeles on new material which she describes to be "a really great opportunity for me as a songwriter. [We are] such a weird threesome - a combination of super pop and really indie". She hinted towards a possible re-release extension of her album in the near future, similar to Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster.

        This is a quirky and original offering from a distinctly English performer. Hollywood is a pure pop gem and features the memorable line "I'm obsessed with the mess that's America". Reminiscent of Kate Bush, and both part of, and unique from, the new generation of English female artists (think Florence and the Machine / Little Boots etc).

          After Mowgli's Road and I am not a Robot I had to hear more. I'm loving this cd - she's original and twisted, a little pop and a little alternative. A couple of songs you might not want to play again, but mostly this cd is garanteed to please.

              Brilliant. High powered, full of energy, very original. Marina has an amazing voice. I can listen to this over and over. Great for fast driving in the car. Listen to the lyrics, funny and unique. A must have cd.
