Description
Notable for his particularly downbeat outlook on life, ex-Arab Strap member Malcolm Middleton's fourth solo outing 'A Sleight Of Heart' finds him in similarly gloomy territory. Though it is a largely acoustic recording with only Middleton and his guitar, contributions from members of fellow Scottish miserablists Mogwai and The Delgados on piano and drums fill out the sound. As well as original songs, Middleton includes several cover versions on this release, the most notable of which being a mellowed reworking of Madonna's 'Stay'.
