Description
The Cribs, now a 4-pieced English indie rock group from West Yorkshire, England, have just released their latest album 'Ignore the Ignorant'. This album, unlike their previous albums, now includes ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny 'Jaman' Marr. With the addition of another guitarist, some people feel The Cribs are moving away from their roots, but if anything, the new blood in the band is only strengthening it. Adding a new spin to the Cribs classics with such songs as "Cheat On Me" and "City of Bugs" they give you a nice mellow feel with an introspective air. But then also with songs such as "We Were Aborted" you can still feel that original Cribs vibe. However, 'Ignore The Ignorant' with twelve lets us know that the group is going in a good direction with the new lineup, and that it is the beginning of a new style for The Cribs. On this album, there is a song for just about every mood you could ever find yourself in. Some are packed to the brim with catchy riffs and choruses while still others are good for when you just want to relax. So all in all, The Cribs' new album, although not the same as all their other albums, is bringing something new to the table that is exciting and delightful.

...'City of Bugs' is the finest thing the band have recorded, with Ryan's Lou Reed drawl and a post-rock bass rumble paired with a Marr guitar coda of epic scope The Times
